Babies definitely tend to be nippy, but they're so small it's laughable more than anything else. They do seem to take longer to grow out of the defensive biting stage, but considering how small they are for so long, I think that's understandable. It does seem like age a lot of times is more important than handling when it comes to them calming down and being easily handleable, almost like they wake up somewhere around a year old and suddenly realize it's okay to be nice, like a switch flipped in their heads overnight. Currently I'm only keeping spotteds, not childrens, although there is very little difference between the two and all four of mine are great to handle so long as you don't smell like a rodent.
