If you are going to spend that kind of money don't bother with the pet store brands. What you want are companies like animal plastics, PVC Cages, and the like. These are the best cages you can get.

1. Stay away from wood. Wood is hard to heat through and doesn't handle humidity well.

2. All glass type cages are terrible at holding heat in. Plastic cages do a much better job. This means it is easier to heat the cage and you use less electricity doing so.

3. Most plastic cages are stackable. This isn't a big deal for someone with 1 or 2 snakes, but if you have a bunch it really is great.

4. You can easily customize a plastic cage. I drill holes in mine to pass cords through and can screw into the walls to mount things.
