    I`ve got 3 of these and they are very reliable.
    They are also stupid expensive for what you get.

    The real draw back is with most herps you want to allow them to thermo-regulate which means a temp. gradient from hot side to cool side...... So you still need a 2nd thermometer for this.

    Any decent quality indoor/outdoor thermometer will give you hots side temp. & cool side temp. Some with rel. humidity can be had for under $15.

    Don't get me wrong, I support Hagen/Exo-Terra with their facilities for breeding and studying the natural life cycle of several animals (they were the people responsible for successfully breeding Hyacinth Macaws if I am not mistaken, overnight dropping the price from $20k and up to around $15 and cutting down pressure on wild populations). But, for your average person it doesn't make sense to purchase their thermo-hygrometer + an additional thermometer.
