rack help
So my wife doesn't like how much space the tanks take up so I decided to get the 2223 rack from animal plastic. Mow to get a thermostat. I will be housing three bosses but don't have the money for a herpstat 4 any other good options? Also do any of u have the Rubbermaid 2223 from them?

Re: rack help
Ok this is a relatively simple task. There are two or three ways to heat these cages. First, you could buy several feet of THG heat tape from Reptilebasics.com. You could have individual pieces(all must be same size) wired together for each shelf resulting in only one plug or you could have one solid long piece of tape snaked from shelf to shelf top to bottom. The other option is purchase several appropriately sized UTHs(under tank heaters) and put one under each tub. There will be a plug from each one that you will plug into a grounded power strip and then plug the power strip into a single thermostat. I would look into the HERPSTAT 1. It is a very solid investment for anyone venturing into a rack system. Unless you have multiple species in the same rack requiring different levels of heat you will only need one thermostat. Hope this helps.

The rack system I'm getting comes with built in belly heat so I don't have to worrie about putting it in. But doesn't each heat source have to have it's own thermostat. One could run hotter then the other and could burn the snake. I'll be having three ball pythons in the rack

Just as an FYI: Animal plastics ships their racks disassembled so you will have to build the rack and install the heat tape on your own
As for heating, it will run as one continuous piece unless you decide to cut it and run it on different levels. You can buy a herpstat 1 and be fine as long as you keep the heat tape in one continuous strand! When you get your thermostat, just put the probe on the middle shelf and then use a temp gun to check the temps in the other tubs. Flexwatt is generally good at keeping steady temps from one level to the next. I, personally, prefer the TGH heat tape from RBI because it does a better job of this...but Flexwatt doesn't have such a variance that it's dangerous.

One thermostat runs the whole rack. They snake the heat tape through in one continuous strip. I would recommend the Herpstat 1 or VE-200.

Re: rack help
Whether you do get several pieces of THG heat tape or individual UTHs you can plug them all into a power strip then plug the power strip into the thermostat. Many proplewdo this. As long as the heat sources are all the same size/wattage they will all get the same amount of power from the thermostat.

So I go to order the rack system and see that the tubs used for it was disconnected so I have to get a different rack. I need a three tub rack for adult Boston that around the 200 range or under that has full set up. Heat, tubs. Any good place to get that from?

rack help
In that price range: a DIY rack. For $300, you can get an RBI CB-70 rack. That includes heat, tubs, and shipping. It also comes fully assembled and ready to plug in.
