Both happy and sad first clutch

The final results of my first clutch was two pastel clowns, two normal het clown and (presumably) two pastel het clown

After the first five here pipped, absorbed their yolk, and crawled out of their eggs, I started getting concerned about that last snake

    It has severe kinking

This is not at all a surprise to me because about 30 days into incubation my entire town and the towns around it had a power outage. The power outage lasted three days. I transported my incubator to another person's house on the first day of the outage but there were still hours that they didn't have heat because the power went out while I was sleeping. I'm glad to see the other babies are healthy though.

Still I feel really sad for this poor baby. I think I'll take it to the vet and have it euthanized. It isn't absorbing its yolk at all and the kinking is really bad.

It's always a sad thing when you lose some babies. It's a fact of life, but if you love your snakes, you feel for the loss. Good looking group though from the others you have there. Congrats and thank you for sharing both sides of the results.

Thank you for your kind words.

The sex ratio was nice. 1.1 Normal, 0.2 Pastel clown, 0.1 Pastel.
