Red Spots on my Pastels Belly?
I was weighing my pastel tonight and I noticed these red spots on her belly.
She's being housed in 1/2 of an AP T8 with paper towels as substrate, and thermostat regulated heat tape. The cool side/air temps range from 80-85 F and the hot side basking temp ranges from 90-93 F. Humidity stays around 60% with minimal misting (a few times a week at most)
Here is a picture (I can take more if needed, just let me know)

Can anyone tell my what's going on?
Thanks in advance
~Aaron

Re: Red Spots on my Pastels Belly?
Is the occupant of the other half a new arrival?
Have you checked for mites?
Have you been applying anything to the skin of the snake?
What's the weird looking bit on the lower half of the picture?

No, I haven't added any animals to my collection for about 7-8 months

I did, and I didn't find any mites on any of my snakes but I will keep an eye out. None of my snakes are soaking or acting abnormal either.

No, never

It's just part of her pattern. It looks far stranger in the picture than it does in person.

Well I guess I'll go with my gut and try a betadine bath. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Red Spots on my Pastels Belly?
Wish I could help. My first guess would be dirty rotten mites.
If nothing ever changed, there would be no butterflies.

I'll keep looking, but so far I haven't found any sign of them.

I have no idea whatsoever if this could affect snakes... but are the paper towels white? My friend is allergic to the dye in paper towels that have the pastel patterns in them. Like I said, no clue if that would affect snakes and you're probably using white paper towels anyway, but cover every possibility, right? LOL.

Reason: I really can spell, I swear...
Snakes are like potato chips... you can't stop after just one bite!

I am using white paper towels without any pattern though I have used the patterned ones in the past. I don't think this is the issue, but I appreciate the out of the box thinking.
