Signatures?

Ok everyone, I am brand new to this forum and I have a dumb question, but i keep seeing everyone's signatures where they list their pets...what is with the decimal points (1.0, 0.08, 0.1 etc) just curious.

It refers to the animals gender

1.0 = 1 male
0.1 = 1 female
0.0.1 = 1 of unknown gender

so 4.5.6 would mean 4 males, 5 females, and 6 animals of unknown gender
