They need to be snug and dark and secure. They dont need logs to help them shed. They can rub against the glass or themselves, as long as your humidity is right, shedding won't be a problem. Mine shed their skin into a little roll, inside their hides. As previously recommend the reptile basics hides are the best, imo. Also, please read over this-
