Ball pythons skin ripped off...I can see the flesh, help!
About a quarter of a square inch of flesh came off of my baby ball python after he got stuck to the adhesive used to hold the themometer to the side of the tank...
it's not bleeding but he seems very frightened....I ran the wound under water and changed the substrate to something that won't stick to it. I have read on some websites to put neosporin on it and it should be ok?
Any advice?

Put it on papertowels or newspaper and it should be fine. It's like skinning your knee. It should scab over and then look pretty good after a shed or two. If it's really that small I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

neosporin won't hurt. and just keep it as clean as possible. if you take it to the vet they'll probably just put it on antibiotics to keep it from getting infected.

Now you know to keep tape out of your snake's enclosure! Keep it clean and make sure it's getting infected and it should heal up just fine.

Make sure the neosporin is not the kind with "pain relief".
You'll be astounded how fast it heals with a couple sheds.
