Just a thought on the location of your freezer. If you're anywhere that gets extremely hot in the summer, you might want to put the freezer somewhere other than your garage (guest room?). That tends to be the hottest place in the house, and it will constantly be fighting to keep cool (wasting energy). Larger freezers can handle that location easier, because they tend to have more stuff (thermal mass) inside them to maintain temps.
