I haven't been pleased with the issue lately, as I'm not fond of field herping adventures, nor do I want to own the latest newt or frog, and turtles aren't reptiles to my mind. I suppose I'd like it more if the community and legislation involved was a topic of discussion. And hey, they take article request!

I agree. I stopped subscribing a few years back because of that. I agree about the frogs and newts and all that, because I don't own them and nor will I ever will. I could honestly do without all the lizards and stuff as well, but they're reptiles. They honestly just need to make a snake only magazine, I think it would give them more business. Because I don't deal with anything except for snakes, I really don't read more then half of the magazine.

You can buy a digital PDF copy of it from their website. The price was 4.99. I'm not sure if you are set on having a physical copy or not but thought I would mention it. Here is the link. Click where it says buy digital back issues and the December 08 issue is listed.

Yea when I called about getting a back issue they told me about digital only. Nothing against digital only, but I'd rather have a paper copy so I can read it on the go and such.

Yeah I totally understand that. Have you thought about checking used book stores? We have a few here that also sell old copies of magazines. I've found Reptiles and things such as BirdTalk etc in a few of them.

On the few car forums I'm on, people post scanned magazine articles on a daily basis. So far I've never heard of any problems from it...

Yea, I don't believe there is a problem with it as long as the person writing and the magazine are credited. I just mainly wanted to make sure it was okay with one of the mods or admins before I did it and got in trouble for it.

    Re: Reptiles Magazine

    Hi,

Sorry I meant to come back to this.

With proper credit etc I think it might be ok - but if the magazine contacted us it would obviously be removed.

The problem could come from the fact we have adverts on this site ( and thus commercial aspects ) whereas scientific papers and the like do not.

I'm genuinely not sure how much this limits things though.
