    Still hasn't laid?

Hey all. My first clutch is incoming and I need some advice.
The girl I've got has always been a great feeder and started this process earlier this year at 1700-1800g. I've read any guides I could find with breeding, she was pretty much like clockwork for all of it...
...until the actual laying needed to happen. Day 25 came and went. So did day 30. Now, today is the beginning of day 40 after her prelay shed, and still no eggs, and I've never found her trying. She seemed really antsy around the 25 mark, then settled in and hugs the heat, but nothing.

A very careful shot of day 32, proof there's eggs in there alright:

So. Do I take her into the vet, or keep waiting? If I wait, how much longer until it's really gone on too long and she needs intervention?
The cage has been covered the whole time and I tried to add a nesting box, but she just shoved it aside. Is there anything else I can do to encourage her?

Leave her be and she will lay. First time girls often like to hold onto eggs for a few extra days. I've gone as long as 50-57 days after ovulation for some of my girls.

^This. They don't all read the manual, but there's no need to worry at this point

Thanks for the comfort guys. As it turned out, she laid six perfect strong veined little white eggs this morning! It always works when you ask for help, right?

That is the normal time frame from ovy

Ovy, then they average 21 days to shed then 27 to 40 days until eggs.
Most of my females will lay 30-32 days after prelay shed.

I was going to tell you she looked super close to laying! Congrats!

Just for future reference, they can make you wait a very very long time! I have a girl who is always lays late. 1st year day 53 after prelay shed, 2nd year day 43 after prelay shed. We'll see what she does this year!

Congrats on your eggs! I've told myself I'm going to threaten my gravid girls (I'm just bluffing...but hopefully they don't know that) and let them know that if they don't lay on time...Imma make them into boots! (again, completely kidding. I would NEVER hurt my babies).

Congrats welcome to the club now you get to wait some more, but surprisingly it hasn't been bad. I guess its because its been so interesting for me to watch the eggs. LOL
