want to get my first bp
hi
I want to get my first BP at the Reptile Super Show in San Diego next month. I'm super excited and have been researching non-stop. Does anyone know about how much a baby morph will cost there? I have less than $200 and really want a baby morph. I'm bummed cuz I don't think I'll have enough. Would I somehow get a better deal going through a local breeder? Does anyone breed them out there and is willing to give me a good price?! haha

There's plenty of morphs out there for under $200. I got my first, a pinstripe, at a reptile show. First and foremost, I'd say get something that interests you. Offhand, some lower priced morphs you may find would be pinstripe, pastel, mojave, spider, I saw a lesser for 200 on the nose at my last show. Also, keep in mind that it doesn't hurt to haggle! Many people at the shows are looking to offload, and taking off $20 is worth it if they don't have to pay for feeders for another mouth to feed. The guy I got mine from tossed in a free chameleon cage. One less thing to lug around to shows. Just my .02

There are a lot of single-gene male morphs that you can get for ~$200. However, keep in mind the costs of feeding, proper caging, possible vet visits, etc., and make sure they are in your budget BEFORE spending a penny on an animal. Perhaps you've already done this and have ~$200 left, which is great, but sometimes people only think about the immediate cost of the animal when they check their bank account.

Thanks for the advice, I hope I can find an awesome deal like that.
Good on you! I'd recommend bringing someone to keep you in check lol. I was really unprepared when I went to my first show, because I was just there to windowshop. Ha. Then I came home with a new addition and had to scramble to get everything set up. I think I'm going to have a spare tub up and running next time I go 'window shopping'
