    What spurs your goals?

I have seen many many posts asking for advice one what to get next, and this has brought a question or 2 to my mind. I am curious as to how many people started with a set goal and how many just kind of dove in head first with no set goals in mind. Personally, when I am able, my goal is to work with my 3 favorite morphs, Clown, Enchi, and pieds. I find myself a very unmotivated individual when I don't set goals to achieve. That is probably the reason when I read these posts my thought process goes directly to what do you expect to get as en end result, and what steps(morphs) are required to achieve these goals. I guess my main goal for this post is to get others opinions on this subject. I would like to know how others decide on their endeavors in the ball breeding world. I find I learn a great many things from reading posts like this that I never thought of before and maybe some good advice for when im finally able to get into breeding myself.

    Re: What spurs your goals?

I picked what I want to make. So, for me, fire bumble bees (fire pastel spider) and savannah Mojave (cinnamon pastel Mojave). I like the way they look and it's a two or three season goal.

If you try to make money, you'll fail. Do what pleases your eyes.

When I started my 2 goals were Bees and Pieds which at the time were in the $7500 range, I accomplished my goal and some more .

Now my goals are still to produce what I like with the price tag being less of an issue since the animals pay for themselves and even generate a profit.

Did I imagine I would one day own the animals that I own and even generate a profit? No and this is why I feel very fortunate each time I hatch an animal and reach another goal.

Once I finally settle down in a place of my own my goals are Enchi/clown combo's and Pieds, just because they appeal to my eyes. I have no real financial goal I just want to make the best looking snakes possible with these genes. The colors and possibilities with them all just appeal to me. I'm hoping to get some great input here so maybe someone reading this post will slow themselves down and think, what do I want to produce, and what steps will it take to get there. I love reading about peoples projects here on the forums. I hope more are willing to share their motivations here as well.

I always wonder that myself when people ask what male/female they should get next. To me the answer is simple: what do you want that you can afford to make?

My first breeding goal will be axanthic fireflies. Then I'm going to move on to making lots of other axanthic combos. My goal on the side will be jigsaws since I already have a pinstripe male and I love their patterns. I'm the same way as you, I've gotta have a goal. I don't want to just toss snakes at each other with no set direction to work towards.

All I know is what I want to have as pets. I know most snake enthusiasts breed (and who knows - I just may someday), but I don't intend on doing so.

    I just want pretty snakes.

I've just got some ball morphs on my list (lesser pastel, pastave, albino, and a couple others), Brazilian rainbow boa, lipstick junglow boa, and a few other snakes. Probably carpet python, blood python, Cali king, green tree python.... I just want a bunch of awesome snakes that I like owning. I don't know if I would enjoy having just one kind of snake.

    Re: What spurs your goals?

I want to make BELs and albino pieds. So that is why I have a pastel lesser and lesser for the BEL. I also have an albino and pied to get my hets for the albino pied. Plus what ever comes out of my bumblebee female
    1.0 Albino Ball
    0.2 Het Albino Ball
    1.0 Pied Ball
    1.0 Lesser Pastel Ball
    0.1 Bumblebee Ball
