Don't over think it. Find your cage and your stat. You will be fine.
People tend to make this rocket science at times and it's not. Boas are particularly hardy animals and unless you have some drastic, and I mean really drastic conditions like some type of heating or cooling accident you will be able to get dialed in. Not that anybody recommends doing everything after the fact, but don't stress.
You'll end up with the perfect set up for you and your boa.
Tweaks and questions are easily found on the board or most boa breeders websites.
Figure this is as good of a place to add this as any...
We went for the 24" height with a shelf. The shelf is super easy to install and my guy LOVES it. He hasn't left it since I put him back in after installing it. He even ate up there.
