I adore my 2 Angolans!! This is a fantastic species to work with. I'll try to answer your questions....

    1) They get a bit bigger than balls. Males usually reach 5-ish feet and females can get 6-7 feet. Some don't get quite that large, but they can.

    2) Yes, they are very docile. Some can be a bit more aggressive, but generally they have great personalities. My female can be somewhat pissy, but she's great once I pick her up. My male is the most outgoing and curious snake I own! Even over my boas. He is ALWAYS coming out to say hi every time I open the tub. He even climbs over the rat to get to my hand - to climb out, not to bite, lol! I have to just open the tub and drop the rat in and close it fast. Silly snake....

    3) Angolans do not have the reputation for being picky eaters that BPs do. Mine will eat rats or mice and usually take it right off the tongs. Because mine are still quite young, and my male is so social, lol, I do sometimes have to just place the rat in their tub and let them take it on their own. But they always do.

    4) I would think that size exo-terra would do just fine for an adult Angolan. Most adults do ok in a 41qt tub just as adult balls do unless they get exceptionally large. If that's the case, a 4x2x1 (ie: an AP T8) would be most appropriate.

    5) They are not arboreal. They are native to the African grasslands just as BPs are and are not known for climbing much. Having said that, they can and will climb some if given the opportunity. But you should be careful to only provide fairly low and very sturdy climbing branches for them. They are heavy-bodied snakes and can be clumsy.

    6) Mine are excellent pets! Angolans have unique scales and have a beaded texture and are very fun to handle. They also do not stress like BPs do - they are quietly curious instead and are not prone to bite as they are generally quite calm snakes. They are a good size - large enough to be sturdy, but not unmanageably large.
