Finally got eggs, but out of town! Help with a couple questions please
I have read and searched a few other posts and it seems like the eggs will be ok until I get back, but I think I just want you guys to make me feel better about the situation.
I'm out of town until Friday, and two of my girls laid today. They should be fine until Friday when I can get them into the incubator right?
And question number two. One of the girls let one of the eggs out of the coil somehow. Will this egg be ok just sitting in the tub until Friday? It's on the hot end.
I'm more worried about the egg that is all alone, but I am hoping the others will be fine until I get back on Friday.
What do you guys think?
Here's one of the girls since we all like pics. The pairing was a BEL (Lesser x Mojave) to a Pastave.

They should be fine, only thing I'd be really concerned with is the lack of humidity. If the eggs are really on just plain paper towel with nothing else in the tub adding humidity they may start to dimple a bit by time you get back.
I also think the roll out egg should be ok unless its infertile to begin with, but I'd imagine it would also suffer from lack of humidity like the rest of the eggs might, on top of the fact that its not in moms coils.

If they humidity is up they should be ok. I had a similar situation where I didn't get them in the incubator for a few days and they were really indented from low humidity, but they all hatched out healthy. As for the roll out, not really sure. Sometimes the female will do that on purpose if she thinks something is wrong with it but my roll outs have hatched before as well.
Do u have a friend u trust to stop by and put them in the incubator? Maybe the person who took the pic?

Thank you guys for the replies.
It is my father that is watching them for me. He would put them in for me, but he's not comfortable doing it at all. Should I have him put something in the tubs to keep the humidity up? The substrate is paper towels. I doubt he will have any access to moss, any other suggestions?

Maybe just put some moist paper towels in the corners or even a damp washcloth could help. Just make sure he knows to not put directly on the eggs.

Thanks again. I will have him do that tonight.
About the other egg, he said it "looks just like all the others." He said it doesn't look like a slug.

Personally, I would tell him to man up and do it I assume you have the incubator up and running?

LOL, I would but he's never even handled one let alone remove one from her eggs without harming them.
Yes, it is up and running. I started to think I wouldn't get any eggs. I've been pairing since the end of October.

I just came back from a mini vacation and came home to two clutches. Both girls were wrapped around them tight. I was gone for 4 days and I could tell one clutch was laid toward the beginning of my vacation because the eggs were dented a bit but they candled good and are in the incubator now.
I would suggest putting a nice sized water bowl in the tub if you do not have one already and move it towards the center of the tub this will help increase the humidity until you get back. Good luck
