The two-toned look might be due to a layer of stuck shed on her tail. It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks opaque rather than being a different color. If she's an underweight rescue, I wouldn't find that to be outside the realm of possibility. If she was pretty bad off to begin with, sometimes layers don't slough off cleanly all at once.
It if does turn out to be old shed, don't try to pull it off. There are a few options for aiding in shed removal, but being that she was so neglected it might be best to just leave her alone and give her a nice (but not beyond recommended parameters) humidity boost for the next time she sheds.

She just shed. The shed was so bad i had to assist her by soaking her andwrapig a towl around her and letting her do the work to get it off. There's no shed left on her it all came off in one piece after assisting. I took her to a vet the next day of having her. Only thing wrong with her was being under weight. All temp and humidity was being at expected when sheding but guess she doesn't shed well on her own do to last owners neglect. The last owner said she hasn't sheded fir him so i don't know the history of her past sheds by i make sure everything in her tank is up to par and non stressful. Lol

She never bites, hisses, or strikes and doesn't mind soakings. She's such a sweet girl. Does well with my other balls too. Lol i have a other normal and black pastel female.
