Need advice on weird egg...
My girl laid 8 eggs about 3 days ago. They all looked good but this one rolled a little when I removed mom from them. Now the side is looking all funky. My question is do I roll it back where the funky spot is on the bottom? I'm thinking that is the yolk sack and needs to be on the bottom. Or do I just leave it?

I really hope I didn't ruin this egg

If you remember which side was on the bottom initially, I would move it back to how it was. If not, just leave it be.
I'd almost suggest leaving the weird looking side where it is so you can monitor it.

I had a similar situation when I removed the eggs from mom... I put the egg back in the closest position (right side up) that I could remember, marked it, and left it alone. It turned out fine, and it had a strange looking area on it as well... and was a bit smaller than the rest of the eggs. So far so good! They were cut yesterday on Day 60, and all are doing well thus far. Good luck!!!

I don't initially know what side was down. I guess I'm just assuming the weird side might be the yolk sack which should be on the bottom. Has anyone ever seen an egg the looks like this?

I could be wrong, but I think if you just place it, as well as you can, it will be okay. The real danger is turning eggs from their original placement throughout the incubation. As long as you set it and forget it, if it's good it will be good. If there is something wrong, then it's going to not make it anyway.

Re: Need advice on weird egg...
It looks a little odd, but not dead/dying. As for it being rolled. I've put eggs in upside-down, in fact I have one in the bator right now that's upside-down. I've never experienced any issues or heard of any other than hearsay. One breeder even experimented by turning them at different times throughout incubation and they were fine. The thread is somewhere around here.

Yeah I remember reading that thread. I think its been a few years though. I guess I'm just freaking myself out a little. This is the first time I've had an egg roll or look so weird only a few days after it was laid... I'm finding myself looking at them throughout the day to see if it gets worse. Good news is they are all showing pretty good veins.
