Worth trying this again next season..(graphic warning, gooey pic)

Been working on this line for a couple years now, this season was my first line breeding attempt of pastel son to normal mother. The dam has popped out some oddities including her son though its been pretty much expected he was likely just a classic jungle which has proven to just be a random occurrence. However with some other consistencies I felt it might be worth the try.
This one died about day 50, theres obvious spinal kinking and of course the head malformation so its difficult to say how much of the color/pattern would have carried over if it had been healthy. Still, Ive shared the picture with some other breeders far more experienced than myself and there is alot of interest. The rest of the clutch is fine so far, I did cut, but doesnt look like any share the same white color but the pattern is carrying. Ill update pics once they are out.

    for now the parents.

Died on day 50. How many days before the others hatched? Their color really comes in a few days before they hatch. A few years back I cut an egg too early and thought I had a Mystic Potion. A few days later.....a Mojave.

He died approx day 50, I cut on day 48 due to a miscount on my part, I know he was alive then because there was movement. None of the others shared that very clean white the rest were all starting to beige and freckle within the pattern.

    Definitely an interesting-looking sire.

I would do the pairing again. They have very cool pattern and I think they are dinker worthy. Are any other babies out yet?

Im definitely going to repeat next year, I have a hold back sister to the pastel I may put with him also. Depending on what comes out of this clutch I may just put him to a good portion of my females and see what happens. worst case I make a bunch of crazy patterned animals, right?

The others are not out yet, but I can see through the cuts that pattern has carried over, looks very much like the black pastel squiggles with some jungle weirdness. I have to say Im normally pretty patient, but this clutch is pushing that. lol.
