Boa info please

I give mine a tad cooler temps than my pythons and of course they'll need more room. You don't need to feed them as often as balls: 7 days for babies minimum and adults are fine every 14 days. If you're getting a BCI I recommend a 4' cage for males and 6' for females/large males. If a BCC I recommend a 6' cage for either sex.

What is the subspecies of boa, age and current size? I would ask the person that is giving it to you what they are doing currently. Are they giving you the cage as well? Temps are pretty close to the pythons you keep. I use 80 as an ambient and cool side temp and 90-92 as a warm side temp. I like the humidity at 60-70%.

I agree with both the above, except that all my boas also seem to prefer slightly cooler temps. I keep my temps at 78 and 88.

Be careful of how often you feed!! Please always remember that boas are not balls and should not be fed like balls. Babies are fed every 7-10 days up to a year, juvies are good at 10 days for another 6 months or so, then up to 14 days by the time they are 2 - 2 1/2yrs. And they don't need as large a prey item either. We offer what will not leave a noticeable lump really at all. Less is better with boas.

How old is the snake you are getting and how often is it currently being fed?? Pictures would help too....
