There's no need to pair after the ovulation. What happens during the ovy is the follicles are moved into the oviduct and the stored sperm is introduced. After that there is no need for any more sperm because all the eggs that are gonna get fertilized have already been. After that it's just wait and see.
No. I haven't had a female that would still lock after ovulation, that's usually how I know if I missed an ovulation. Once they ovulate they are going to lay, so there's no benefit to breeding more.
