I'm tempted to try it for a laugh.

Though I am a bit worried about the shell.

Hard boiled egg - peel the shell, baste it thoroughly in rat poo, and hit it with the hair dryer.

    Video tape the strike.

Animal Control quote "Ball pythons enjoy eating eggs as a treat!"

After watching the video the animal does look like a female that just recently laid...poor baby.

Well, at least it wasn't reported in a negative way like the media normally does, and it sounds like the snake will be cared for properly instead of being euthanized.

    Well,

I offered a heated (raw) egg to 8 adult ball pythons - all of whom should be hungry.

Several flicked their tongue like mad at it for a bit then wandered off.

Not one of them tried to eat it.

Has anyone local tried contacting the humane society to see if they can help with information? I have emailed and called news and radio stations in the past to offer information to help them report more accurately, and most places are happy to have correct information.

Anyone else notice the nice vision cages the humane society is using? Someone there knew enough about reptiles to realize good, long lasting caging would be a solid investment just in case.

Rather than just sighing over the misinformation, help! Reaching out to your local stations to politely correct inaccurate information is one little step towards educating the public.

I gave mine a choice between an egg and canned yams, she chose the yams.
