The big savings come when you can pack a big order into one box. If that's too many to justify ordering at once, stock up when a reptile expo comes to town.
I can speak for MiceDirect personally. Their prices are better (at least on Mice, I haven't really compared on Rats.) than most other places, and I've been to their facility. Very clean and professional.

I was hopeful but the price is just a touch higher per rodent through them than rodent pro for me, (keeping in mind that is for an extra 50 small rats as compared to my last order from RP).

    $1.38 vs $1.59

EDT adjusted prices per rodent at current order +10 small rats through RP. still cheaper shipped.

I buy from local herp store. They are a touch more expensive than buying bulk online but I like to support the ma and pop stores when I can. Plus it's an excuse to window shop for snakes I can't have.

I've heard mixed things about almost all of bulk online retailers as well.

I wish i could do the same here, only local shop closed a few years ago, and the horrid petco is an hour up the road.

    Re: Frozen Feeder Question

My rats I get from a local breeder since I feed live, but I feed all my corn snakes F/T and I buy my feeders from Loxahatchee Rodents ( http://loxahatcheerodents.com/estore/ ) and I LOVE them. I've ordered multiple times from them.

I used to order from Rodent Pro, but they had an outbreak of some kind last year and me (as a customer who's rodents could have been affected) was not contacted at all about it. I dumped my rodents when I found out and ordered from Loxahatchee. I've never looked back since. I'm not saying Rodent Pro should never be ordered from, I personally don't because I feel left out of the loop when I should have been informed. Loxahatchee is based in Florida and one of my orders came during a hurricane. They weren't able to ship for a day or two after they were supposed to and I got MULTIPLE e-mails and a phone call during that time to keep me informed. I would much rather buy from a business with good business practices. But then again, that's just me.

Another thing to note is that BHB, Big Cheese Rodent Factory, and American Rodent Supply also have frozen feeders.
