I was going to wait but I'm too excited!

My first set of twins is hatching!! This was a breeding partnership between myself and Matt Cossman of Reptile Revolt. The dam is my 10 year old dark normal "Thunder". The sire is Matt's Champagne. I will update with more pics when they all hatch.

6 eggs. 4 have pipped, and so far there are 3 Champagnes and 2 normals. The twins egg has a Champ and normal.

And last but definitely the coolest..
THE TWINS!! One normal, and one Champagne!

    Awesome.

And I think that is the smallest slug I have ever seen.

More pics when they come out please?

Yeah and to think I was disappointed when I saw the slug but I got 7 babies from a 6 egg clutch anyway!

isn't it pretty rare to have 2 different "morphs" or phenotypes hatch out as twins?

It's more common than one would think. At its most basic, it's the product of two different fertilized follicles surrounded by one shell. I'm pretty sure there are other circumstances leading to the same event, but someone more experienced with genetics will have to chime in on that one.
