Yeah sounds like his buddy wants to get to Florida but doesn't have the cash. Plus GIVING away "14 pieds" is just ludicrous. They could get a lot more money out of it if they sold them, there's no way they can't know that.
The cheapest flight I ever got was a $99 round-trip to Atlanta back in '08. But after all the fees and stuff, it was more like $250-300.
