    Show off your incubator!

Since we have threads on showing off everything else, I thought why not? see if it gets anywhere!

Here's my current incubator, it's the first one I have made and it is holding up like a champ ! Maintains temps great! Only holds 3 and we are going to need more room soon. :/ back to the drawing board.

How do you keep the temp in the top the same as the bottom? Do you use 2 t-stats?

    Re: Show off your incubator!

Mine is nothing fancy! I made it out of a 120 qt cooler. Heat tape is on the bottom and you can see the fan in the center. It can hold 4 clutches the way it is, but if I shift around and rearrange the water bottles, I can get 8 in there. The box in there sadly has no eggs (darn girls have yet to ovulate)... It's a test box that I was experimenting with vermiculite/water ratios and press-n-seal. The incubator has been on since February. It takes a while for temps to stabilize so I didn't want to shut it off. Now that it's stabilized, it holds temps AMAZINGLY. It's hooked up to a Herpstat 2.
