So I have been pairing my normal female to my male spider, they've always locked up quickly and consistently. Well last year she didn't go, and hasn't been showin g signs this year either. A couple of weeks ago I paired and instead of immediately locking, they immediately began battling. I kinda freaked out because my already aggressive and completely unpredictable spider was goin WILD. Anyways, I stopped pairing. I left town unexpectedly for a week due to my grandmother passing and didn't spend any time w the snakes until tonight. I figured I would try again to sex my normal(no question about the spider), well I couldn't get any hemipenes to pop, per usual, but I noticed something there that looked a little odd. I squeezed a little harder(2400 grams is hard enough to pop as it is..) and out comes this HUGE sperm plug. Thing was like a snap pea lol. Anyways I hope that I haven't done any damage to either snake with the countless locks they've had together...kinda worried about it now which is why I'm posting.

What kind of damage exactly can occur when two males lock? What are the signs of said damage?? Other than not pairing anymore what should I do? The normal is retired now as far as I'm concerned (although he(she) was my first BP and my largest who I've had for like five years and would love to see some offspring).

Any comments(not mean ones), concerns, or advice is/are greatly appreciated.
