I'm trying to find a bedding that I'm happy with for my sand boas. I'm using coco fiber right now, but the longer fibers have been causing teenie tiny problems. Nothing huge, just very mildly irritating and more of an inconvenience, not a danger or anything. It's a little harder to clean because of the difference in size and shape of the fine pieces and the stringy pieces too.
I'm just wondering about using vermiculite as bedding? Pure curiosity with no real thought put into it at all as of now. Any thoughts? I worry about them ingesting it, I already feed outside of the cage, but what if they did ingest some?
Or what about sanichips?
Previously they were kept on walnut bedding, and sand (from different sources) but I don't much like sand and always hear mixed things about it, and the walnut bedding was stuck in one of the snake's eyes when I got her, so I'm not really liking the idea of that much either.
Thanks.
