Maybe getting into a type of lizard soon??

So, I have a few different sized tanks, I have some 10 gals, 30 gal and a 75 gal. So, my ques5tion is, what type of lizard could start out in a 10 gal and work its way up to a 75 gal for life, something decent sized (obviously not something that NEEDS something bigger)?

I'm not too familiar with all the lizards, but beardies start small and stay a very manageable size. I also love cresties and other Rhacs, but they would ideally have an enclosure that is taller rather than longer.

You could flip a tank up on its end.

Absolutely. I have one like that for my Crestie. I just wasn't sure how set the OP is on using the 75gal. The really big tanks might not have the structural integrity to sit that way (no idea).

If your 75 gal tank has good floor space, I highly recommend getting a blue tongue skink. They're decent sized lizards with distinct individual personalities.

When you think lizards to me aside from the enclosure size, the feeding requirements are very important also.

How do you feel about feedings bugs, having bugs in your house an maybe breeding them.

Bearded dragons will required a large amount of them.

Next, heat and uv lights are to take in consideration too since it can be costly.

Personally I love BTS I think they are way underrated. They have a good size to them are easy to care for and while enjoying bugs every now and then they don't have to be part of their staple diet.

    Depends on price.
You could get a Chinese water dragon as a baby, or a Caiman Lizard for something out of the norm... but they can be pricey.
Also, are you looking on getting one you can touch or one to just look at? Because then almost all monitors are out, lol.

Both Chinese water dragons and Caiman lizards get FAR too big for a 75 gallon aquarium. Even dwarf monitors need more space than a 75 can provide. I have my Ackie in a 150x100x80cm terrarium and hes only maybe 50cm head to tail. You have to take into consideration not just the size but also how active the animal is.

I understand this, that's why I said the size might rule them out.

As far as what could be good for a 75 gal tank....... I have a Cuban Anole (Giant Knight Anole) that loves his 55 gal. They can grow to be up to 2 feet long, and really really pretty. Mine is half that size, and he's already spectacular. Very easy to care for too! I have tree branches and live plants inside the tank that make a nice peice of "art", so to speak, when he isn't as active or is in his hide during sheds. I also have a Tokay Gecko in the tank with him as well, that utilizes the tank during the night time. I've had marble geckos and golden geckos inside the tank with the Anole in the past, but, he's proven to be a tank bully with other day-dwelling lizards.. as male Cuban Anoles are very territorial... except to a female Cuban Anole.
Yes, the Anole and Tokay have had some "fights" if you want to call them that. They don't really do much damage to eachother, and "fights" are extremely rare with them, at least with mine. They tolerate eachother, and co-exist, so it makes for a nice daytime/nightime settup.

But, you'd have to start with the 75 gallon immediately, that's the only downside.

I suggest a Uromastyx morph. They come in a variety of colors and patterns. Amazing colors. Blued, neon yellows, oranges, etc.

They are like beardies, but don't need insects. They are veggie and seed eaters.

    Great personalities. Funny little things.
