In general are there chemicals that irritate their skin? (other than bleach and other more obvious chemicals)

try to avoid burning incense or using smelly spray, or other things that smell that you burn (sage, etc.). Snakes have a very primitive respiratory system, with really only one lung, so it's easy for them to get a respiratory infection.

Ay, I take it that applies to cigarettes as well?
