Ultrasound / X-ray question

I know many of you have your own ultrasounds, but has anyone taken their breeding females to the vet just for X rays or ultrasound to see where they are in the breeding process? Will most herp vets do this and how much does it run?

Sure some people do it, I've seen more than a few posts with x-rays and ultrasound pictures.

I prefer to keep track of sheds, palpate and watch for the glow after the preov shed over spending good money on a vet trip, but that's just me.
