Eggs coming soon and could use everyone's 2 cents!

Hey everyone. Ok so I have my first clutch coming in the next few days and I'm stressing over some stuff I'm sure I don't even need to be. A friend of mine is a experienced breeder and helping me tons. So my biggest question is humidity. I have Zoo-Meds simple Reptibator being that I have only one clutch. We've got it filled with water and maintaining temperature with a better thermometer than the one it comes equipped with. However, I cant seem to manage my humidity. Temps stay between 88-89 but cant get my humidity over 88. My hygrometer has a plus minus range of 6 degrees and I've experimented with a few egg boxes between vermiculite hatch rite and perlite with all different kinds of water levels added. Is my humidity level ok to begin with. And would you say my meter just isn't on point. Thanks for your advice ahead of time! The wait for my eggs is killing me too haha

Try covering your bin with press and seal. I was having the same issue, and now everything's fine.

Im with Lopez and we have been ... so we are wondering if its just the hygrometer being off or what... ugh She is ready to give us some eggs real soon, and we are just worried....

What kind of hydrometer are you using. I've got a digital one with a probe.

Its a Thermo-Hygro combination Digital... sensor ? My son is better with this but he is driving across AZ right now.. lol.. Im reading it off of the package... Exo Terra

I have the digital hydrometer of the same brand, I think.

What temperature is your incubator at?
How is your egg box set up?

My incubator is keeping the eggs at 88-89. I'm using vermiculite, with a light diffuser on top. I add water as needed, and have the top sealed with press and seal. There are no holes in my tub. My humidity is about 90-100. Definite condensation on the sides.

The incubator temp is at 95 and 64 humidity.... the thermo thats in the tub itself is 88.5 and 87 88 humidity... we have vermiculite with a light diffuser on top as well and press and seal.... the only holes are the ones in the incubator itself.. .on the bottom... if that all makes sense...its staying the same...nothing has changed... should we somehow seal the little holes on the bottom of the incubator?

Do you have a picture of the incubator? And how wet is your vermiculite?

Since you have your eggs on a diffuser you can add more water.
