I use the Ranco on my oil-filled radiator heater, and it is never more than a degree off. Since this heater runs when I'm not home, I'll spend the $129.99 to rest easy. I'm not saying that I know of any issues with the one posted above, but it isn't a chance I'm willing to take.
This is a good point. Saving $100 isn't worth possibly losing $1,000s in animals.
