I don't think anyone is saying that that may not be the case. I know mine really liked his half log though. I tried moving it around when I had it in there and he went where it went ignoring the other hides. It's not unheard of.

they will thermoregulate from the hot side to the cool side as they see fit, but I would leave his bark in as he seems to prefer it and if its eating , shedding and pooing it is very secure, which is what we all want.

It isn't unheard of, but my point is that some people seem to think something is wrong and automatically must be corrected if our animals don't act exactly according to how we think they should (not directed at anyone in particular). As Ava and jackiee said, what's the harm in leaving it, as long as he's eating, shedding, and pooing?
