    Firefly's- What to look for?

I want to get an idea of the characteristics that a high quality firefly should have. I understand that some of these qualities are subjective but I would like to get an overall sense of the most important characteristics. I am attaching a few ads/pictures of firefly's on the market so that you guys can tell me what you like about them or what your ideal firefly would look like.

All of those are nice firefly's.
You want a firefly that doesn't have crappy pastel in it, the less brown spotting on it the brighter it will be as an adult, just like when you look for a pastel.
The bonus is the flaming and blushing, the more the better obviously.

Re: Firefly's- What to look for?

What do you think of the snake in the 4th link? http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...firefly+female

She looks to be very clean and has some nice blushing and is being sold at 750 shipped. Is she worth that price? I want to expand my collection and am considering some of these girls. I think she is the one that is the cleanest and has the most amount of blushing compared to the other ones. I can wait until the 2013 babies hatch and check out the new firefly's but I do think that girl is nice

DWHerp is a pretty highly regarded breeder so I doubt you'd go wrong with purchasing a Firefly but I would ask for a picture of her in the tub without the crazy lighting because I do feel like they over light/edit a lot of their pictures. I'm sure she looks just as good but you want to know the real colours before you purchase.

Re: Firefly's- What to look for?

That girl in the 4th pic looks like ours. We purchased her as a firefly, but after comparing her to most fireflies, she looks more superfly. We lined her up with our Super Pastel and their head and body blushing are almost identical. So it'd be nice to say we got a Superfly at a Firefly price, but we need to make sure she proves out first. Good luck with what you decide! But that 4th one is pretty. Here is ours...

My Balls- Boys- Super Chocolate, Butter Enchi Ghost, Lemonblast, Mojave Sable ph hypo, Genetic Stripe, 2 66% Het Pieds, Bumblebee, Clown, Normal
Girls- 18 Normals (Het Hypo, Albino, Genetic Stripe, Pied, Caramel), 2 Lemonblasts, Sable ph hypo, Sable ph VPI, Pastave, Mystic, Enchi, Vanilla, 2 Cinnys, Bumblebee, 2 YB, 2 Spiders (1 het hypo), Lesser het hypo, 2 Pastels, Mojave ph hypo, Super Pastel, Superfly, Pinstripe, Spotnose ph VPI, and Albino.

My Boas- 1. Hypo het albino (Pierre'), .3 Anery het Albino (Avery, Ariel, Punky Bruster), 1.1 DH Snow (Jazmine, Sebastian), .1 het Albino (Cookie) 1.1 Sunglows

My Carpets- 1.2 JCP, .1 Tiger

My Rosies- .1 Dome Rock (Ella, the one who started it all), .1 Albino Whitewater (Teeny), and 1. Otay Lake Unicolor (Cash)

because noone mentioned it so far, and because it is so important, i call for it: Get pictures of the parent snakes. And if possible pictures of the grandparents. Perfect would be pictures of the parents and genetic data (what morphs) for the grandparents.

It's tough to pick which firefly is my favorite from those. Seems like you have a good idea of what to look for .

The nicest one is the second one from JCRoyal! It has everything you would want in a Firefly, light background color, nice markings, and incredible blushing. It looks like it was produced from a high grade Graziani line Pastel to a nice Fire breeding. Also there is no crazy lighting or over processing in the pictures so you can see exactly what you are going to get.
