Hey all I'm Logan.
Hello everyone. My name is Logan, I've been a member for about 1 month just never got around to introducing myself. I've always been a snake lover, I was born and raised in south east Florida. About a month ago I walked into a small reptile shop and was looking at the selection and I've always been facinated with Green Tree Pythons, but I figured that I would start with something alittle less aggresive for my first snake. So after looking around one of the co-owners came up to me and asked me if I needed any help. I explained what I was looking for and she helped me go through the different species. I got to hold a couple different ones and I heard them say "We just got in a clutch of new Ball Pythons." So I went over to take a look and the guy told me that one of the Ball Pythons was about 1 month old and he was a normal but looked like a pastel. So I dicussed what I would need for an enclosure and all the necessities. Now before I go any further, I live at home with my parents and younger brother, financially my dad can't aford to move or support the house so I stepped in to help. My parents and brother are deathly afraid of snakes, hint why I never owned one til now. But so on with the story, I came home smoked out with mom and talked with her, she told me that she knew I had been wanting one for a long time and that my family was being one sided about me getting one. So she called up my dad and told him I was taking her to the reptile shop to check out what kind of snake I wanted, my dad asked if I might be getting one and she told him yes, she told him that I had dropped everything to help them with the house and I never asked for anything in reutrn. He agreed and so did my brother. We went down to the shop where I met "levity" He was that special ball python the guy told me about earlier. She asked if she could hold him (while he was in my hands) I said sure and she asked how and I told her and then she fell in love. My mom absolutly loves him. Needless to say I got him and He has been a huge part of my life. Well I really look forward to talking to all of you.

Welcome Logan! This is a great place to learn about how to keep your animals, not only your BP. People here are friendly and willing to help.
The thing that disturbed me the most about your post was when you said you "came home smoked out with mom and talked with her." Were you guys in the right mind to make this decision?
Anyway, welcome and enjoy the craziness!

Yeah we were in the right state of mind . My mom needed to calm her nerves to get her foot in the door of the shop.

Just on the off hand, if the smoking you're referring to is not tobacco, I wouldn't talk about it on here. I think it's against the ToS to talk about drugs/illegal things things. Just a friendly warning.
