    Pinstripes

So what makes a good pinstripe? What do you look for color and pattern wise?

When I bought Allure I just wanted a morph. I didn't know what I wanted but I wanted a white and black snake (it wasn't until I joined here and was pointed at the firefly axanthics and looked them up that I realized that wasn't happening without a LOT of dough or years of breeding). I was going to get a bee because that was the closest to white as I was going to get and I loved the spider gene. I decided not to at because I just didn't want to deal with the wobble. Garrick recomended a pinstripe then instead and said he'd have more posted in a few days. lol I stalked that page until they came up. When I saw him I knew he was the one. I loved his golden sunsety colors and the way his stripe was all broken up more like the spider gene. I never planned on breeding.

Lately I've been thinking about when I do breed, how I could put Allure to use. I've been wondering if he's not breeder quality because of that broken pattern now. I really dig it but I don't know if others do. If he's not good for just plain pinstripes what about making jigsaws?

Ok this is Garrick's picture and was his sale photo. I've taken other shots of him but the good ones are when he was in shed. Sometime in the next month or two I'll get some nice ones.

I think your pinstripe is a very nice looking one. I love his color IMO the golden coloration is more important than the pattern. I am a pinstripe kinda guy I just like pins whether they have a perfect pattern, a busy one or a reduced one. As for making combos he's just half of the equation. When you are considering breeding you should try to get the best examples of each morph you want to incorporate into your plans. What that means really depends on your taste. So if you are going for Jigsaws you also want to make sure you have a nice mojo to go with it.

    Re: Pinstripes

Personally, I've never been one to advocate what others think is 'good'. I like what I like and I get what I like. A prime example is my spider. 'They' say the more white on the sides the better. At least, when you hear or read a description, that's what they talk about as a selling point. Personally, I don't like the white. The less the better for me. I like to see as much of the webbing as possible and think the white distracts from that and reduces the pattern on the lower sides of the snake. Needless to say, Tobby - my spider, has very little white. Sugars and Calicos are another story. The white is what you are going for. (I don't have any Sugars or Calicos LOL).
I love the look of you baby! I think he's perfect!

This is what I think makes a good pinny:

I like full unbroken dorsal stripes and more lighter colors over the darker pinnys. My little Leilani was everything I wanted in a pinstripe.

OP: I like your pin, it looks like he has super color!

    Re: Pinstripes

he is more on the reduced side.

you can have pinstripes with lots of patterning, these have the double dorsal stripe and lots of vertical lines added to these, and if its reduced then you get less of the vertical lines and the double stripe also goes missing here and there.

As long as the colors are nice and the lines are at right angles to each other and not randomly all over the place its a nice pin in my eyes. And depending on, for example, what you like to see in lemonblasts or jigsaws, you might want a reduced one or a more patterned one.

he is more on the reduced side and for that he is a good example, i totally would breed him.
