Talking Need the help of bp.net experts identifying bp

Hey everyone, a friend of mine purchased this animal back in December at a show as a vanilla. He was unable to care for the snake so I took the little guy in I have not worked with vanillas yet and I am certainly no expert at identifying them. I work like to breed him with a fire in the future but didn't want to waste a whole year if he is a normal

So my fellow bp friends what do you guys and girls think!

That looks like a normal. I'm not good identifying vanillas so I could be wrong, but they usually have a very distinct headstamp

Thank you, awesome animal! He looks lighter then a few normal's I have so I wasn't quite sure. I heard vanillas lighten as they grow so I was keeping my fingers crossed as this little guy grows.

He's a normal. He won't lighten and his color won't change. He has none of the vanilla traits. If you look at the pics others have posted you'll notice that vanillas have a particular head stamp, a slightly different type of pattern, and the color is different. It's not just a color that looks like a light normal. It's an entirely different color.

They also have clean bellies, and often *don't have a lot of flames.

I hate that people are always selling snakes claiming they are something other than what they are. I also hate to keep seeing new keepers/breeders just buying anything they can without knowing anything about that particular morph first. As long as people keep buying on a whim, before they know the morphs and breeders, there will always be people willing to sell them a normal as a morph.

It sucks your friend was lied to. I hope he didn't pay a lot for that BP.
