Butter VS Lesser and Their Combos??

I dont know if there is a difference in Butter or Lesser. I've read so many different things on this, and I'm just gonna say "Its just about the same" Is the Butter and Lesser the same to you?
So I wanted a Pastel Lesser or a Pastel Butter female (depending on what the breeder calls it) and I was looking at some morph possibilities with both, so my question is..

**1.Do the combos have the same names?
The BHB morph calculator doesnt have it that way, but I'm not sure if its just a mistake, or if they think butter and lessers are different.

**2. Would they look the same down the line?

    **3. Is pricing different?

    thank you!

    This shows the name differences.

Lesser, lesser platinum, and butter are all different genes that look virtually the same unless you have a good eye for subtleties. Some of the combos are different and some are the same. Usually breeders are pretty clear if a snake has butter or lesser in it. As for pricing, I think butters go for a little more expensive, but they are roughly the same price.

    They're the same genetic mutation.
Some people say that butters are more yellow and lessers are more creamy, etc etc. Sure, they can be these things, but lessers can be more yellow than some butters as well and vice versa with the creamy coloration.
Any lesser/butter snake that looks different is due to the variation of the individual, not the morph itself.

Lesser/Butter and their combos of equal quality should be priced roughly the same.
And combos should have the same name and lesser/butter noted..

    ^ What they said.

And a question to throw out there to anyone: if you paired Lesser to Butter and got lesser/butter babies what would you sell them as (Lessers or Butters)?

Personally, I wouldn't do that pairing, but if for some reason I ever did..I would sell the offspring as butter/lessers. Making it crystal clear that I could not guarantee which, and be clear on the pairing that produced them.

Edit: I'm of the group that believes they are the same morph also, btw.

A Butter Lesser is a BEL. Both butter and lesser are the same thing. Just like Coral Glow / Banana... same thing. Different lineage is all. Same genetics. You can make the same things with butters as you can with lessers... this has been proven for many, many years now. I don't understand where people are getting "they are different" when IN FACT, THEY ARE THE SAME.

Butter, Lesser = SAME THING. Different name/lineage is all.

Jerry (SnakesRkewl) did this pairing. He said his Lesser and Butter were total opposites in looks. And he based his offspring names on the looks of both of the parents. (i.e. busy pattern offspring was named after the busy pattern parent.)

I personally wouldn't do that pairing since a busy pattern of one parent can result in the offspring that isn't of the same morph.

Been there, done that. Sold them as Butter/Lessers with an explanation that they came from a Butter x Lesser pairing...

Thanks guys, didn't want to derail this thread too much but my bf has an amazing lesser and I have an amazing butter and we'd really like to stick them together one day. Wanted to see others thoughts/opinions on it
