This is a project that I was dreading...I looked numerous times at professionally built incubators online and in the stores, but they were so pricey, and small...I finally found this perfect wine cooler on CL for 85 bucks(Would have talked the chick down but I was like thirty mins late when meeting her). I scooped it up, gutted it, and went to work.
Had I had all my materials together and ready before tackling the project, this would have taken less than three hours to do. I'm very proud of it, I still don't have a pro tstat hooked up to it, just a cheap rheostat that i had laying around until my next paycheck...My girl is going into pre-lay shed right now, and will probably shed in a few days, so that gives me time to get a tstat(Probably get a herpstat 2 and put my herpstat 1 on the bator)..
anyway, here she be
I left the compact fluorescent light and original thermometer in, thought it would be useful. The thermostat is off by a few degrees compared to my two acurites.
(Jaimee will kill me once she sees these pics of our dirty apt posted online lol)
Just one promising clutch this year, but that's okay..since it's my first
As of right now, the temp in the middle is 91, 84 on rack lower, and 79 near the water..but it's only been running about 30 minutes, i figure it'll probably be a good 24 hours before the water starts to warm up n keep things regulated. I also think that the fan I have may be way too small. If the temps aren't consitent throughout by tomorrow evening, i'll add a bigger fan toward the bottom.
