    Leopard geckos carriers of IBD?

I remember reading somewhere (I thought it was on here) that leopard geckos can carry IBD. I have 2 leopard geckos and my son is pretty attached to them but since my ball python collection has grown so much recently, my boyfriend has been suggesting that maybe we should get rid of the leopard geckos as to not risk the balls being infected. So I have a few questions about it....

    1. Is it true that 40% of leopard geckos are carriers of this disease?
    2. Can it jump from leopard geckos to ball pythons?
    3. Do leopard geckos show symptoms or are they just carriers?

We've had the leopard geckos longer than the balls and they are a breeding pair. We bought them as juveniles and we've had them for over a year now I know for sure. Before I read that I've always had Eve's (the ball I've had the longest) tank next to the leopard geckos but now that I've read that leopard geckos are carriers, I'm starting to wonder if that's such a good idea? What do you guys think? Should I give them up and disappoint the kid or do you think it's safe?

I've never heard of lizards carrying IBD.
