Bulging of the lower jaw help!

I have an 8 month old ball python whom I fed last night. When he was finished eating he was not closing his mouth and was shaking his head. When I checked on him this morning his lower jaw was swollen and the inside of his mouth was red and purple. Seen a vet and was given baytril for it. Has anyone else had a similar experience or any advice?

just frozen. he has what looked like a blood clot stuck on his tooth after he was finished eating and that seemed to be what was irritating him, we took a q-tip and got it off and he continued to freak out I'm worried it's a tooth

Oh my, that's extreme: poor guy.

One of my big females got her upper lip all swollen up before when she dumped her water bowl in the night and rubbed her face against her tub. It went down with some Baytril shots, diluted Betadine swabs to the affected area, and warm compresses. Luckily she didn't break off a tooth or cause an abscess.

Are you doing injectable Baytril for him? Did the vet think it was just swelling or an impacted/broken/infected tooth? Did they recommend any swabs to the area?

yea the poor guys is pretty sore. He didn't really give to much of a diagnosis just figured an abscess and it's only an oral baytril that's diluted for 10 days. It was just do fast last night he was fine before the feeding and by morning he looked like this. But no swabs were recommended or anything
