    The Tenchi Muyo Family Tree

If you've seen enough Tenchi Muyo shows it seems that everyone is related. Well, this handy dandy family tree someone made does a pretty good job of showing just that. So apparently, it's ok in Japan to marry/have kids with your half-siblings and cousins.

In Japan, marrying cousins IS legal, actually...

Well if you really think about it we're all probably somehow distantly related...

I know I'm from a bloodline that has an English Duke/Duchess in it, but I dunno if they were "royal" enough to allow in-breeding... I think they're low enough on the royalty totem pole that they were married off to other families.

Yeah, if you just take this series stand-alone then yeah. They pretty much are all part of the Jurai Royal Family in some way

However, I've seen enough anime to know that regardless of heritage, it's ok to hook up with your first cousin. At least in the anime world it's like that. No idea if that is really what they do in Japan. Given how traditional Japanese tend to be, I doubt it is a normal thing.

Re: The Tenchi Muyo Family Tree

I have 2 cousins that are married to each other (they are 2nd cousins to each other), they had known each other since childhood. I was told by my 2nd cousin that she wanted me to marry her son, my 3rd cousin; both he and I thought that was gross to the nth degree because we grew up together (this was before I met Chris). Yes my family is quite interesting.
