Second ovulation!
I thought Sydney might have ovy'd last week as she was very big and swollen, but i guess not because now I'm POSITIVE she is. She was bred to Ozai, my fire. C'mon fire pins!
And this time I didn't pick the ovulating female up! lol :o

Not sure if the pics really show it, but IRL she's a lot lighter than normal too, her normally:

Sometimes snakes will release follicles from one ovary and later release follicles from the other instead of both together, so in essence I guess they can ovulate twice in some instances.
Another reason for seeing swelling in a female snake is during vitellogenesis. During this time the females body is producing yolk for the follicles and as the follicles fill up with yolk it can cause some visible swelling.
Congratulations, it looks like you're going to be a snake parent

Re: Second ovulation!
Thanks, guys!
Huh, that's interesting, MarkS, it really did seem like she was ovulating a few days ago, that makes more sense.

Re: Second ovulation!
I caught this girl looking uncomfortable, she's also just gone blue for her pre-lay shed.
