Is it okay for the air to be the same temp on both sides as long as the bottom is only hot on one side?
I do the same. I have a baby ball python (130 grams) in a 10 gallon. Hot side is 92 degrees on the bottom glass above the heat pad making the substrate temp around 90. And the coolside is 81 degrees. I maintain this by keeping a 50 watt red bulb in the middle of the tank. And I cover each side next to it a bit to keep in heat and humidity, but still allow ventilation. Your set up seems fine with the added heat lamp. Just mist once or twice daily. Goodluck
