Wow. I just became very self-aware of this whole obsession. The more I see of each model, the more I just want one of those...and one of those...and how cool would it be to have one of those in my collection? Though I have owned and fostered many snakes over the years, this is the first time I have become so self-aware of this compulsion. Due to a move, I bequeathed my last few snakes a few years back to a fellow herper I knew could, would, and has taken extraordinary care of them. Now that I am settled for good (a couple of offspring will do that to a man), I started last year with my Normal girl. Then browsing one day, I came across this stunning Spider female. Before I knew it, there was a FedEx receipt in my Inbox...Did I mention I forgot to tell the wife?
Then....THEN...I get to looking at boas here a few months ago. A friend has a nice hypo Arabesque that I couldn't get over. So I get to talking to a good friend on another reptile forum who I know breeds BCIs and is very selective of her breeding projects. One project per year. AND she just happens to have a couple hold backs from 2012 she has since decided to let go. And what happens? Another receipt in my Inbox (just waiting on better shipping weather). Mind you, yes, I do have the facilities AND faculties to care for these animals as I have before...So I am now up to a quantity of three. Oh, and I failed to maybe mention that one to my wife as well.(She knows now)
SO I am on here perusing threads, giving back and learning some more when I come across the Blood Pythons board. I have seen the Bloods before and they never really tripped my trigger until I saw it..a pair of Matrix's (or Matricies). How beautiful! Those bloods just stole my heart. SO guess what? No, no more receipts in my Inbox. I contained myselfI would still like a warm bed to sleep in at night.
Anyway, I guess as I get a little older one becomes a little more self-aware. I now know the power of a true "compulsion"...
