Food aggressive female BP
So far I have been exceptionally lucky. My snakes have not refused a single meal. Not even with cloudy eyes during shed.
I have a 266 gram female(way to small to be building eggs) that almost climbs out of her cage at feeding time before I even have the rat in the tongs.
I am currently feeding 15% body weight on 7 days. She has the typical plump BP shape although I thought she was a bit on the skinny side when I acquired her.
I am in no rush to breed as I am still looking for a multi-gene YB or ivory male so no pressing need to bulk her up.
My question is, first is this really uncommon? I see many threads about BP's not eating but few on BP's that are absolute garbage disposals.
And second, is there a consensus on which is healthier for the snake, either upping the % body weight fed or moving her to a 5 day cycle?
I am leaning toward putting her on a 5 day provided she doesn't get obese. I have zero desire to "power feed" but, I do want to make sure I keep my snakes as healthy and content as I can.
Edit: Already glad other users here had convinced me that cage feeding was better than moving this girl to feed. So, thanks for prior advice as well as any to come.

My ball is a beast when it comes to eating too. I stick to weekly feeding of appropriate feeders. She still makes good gains.

I have to feed one of our younger females with gloves because I can't even slide her tub open without her coming out in full force. I've had her for 2 years, offered weekly while in shed or not, and she has NEVER refused a meal.

Well you all should count your blessings! I think my snake could have seasonal affective disorder. The acronym makes sense because it makes me
Does the age effect eating response? My snake didn't strike until it slowed down growing and became a man-snake.

I wouldn't call that a problem, personally. Some snakes just KNOW it's feeding day and get excited. Had my spider male jump a foot out his tub to come after the rat I had by the tail. He was ready! For me, I'd count my blessings and be glad shes OVER excited instead of UNDER.

I do count my blessings.
As far as snake "problems" go this has to be one of the most minor. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a significant difference in some BP's metabolism that would require heavier or more frequent feedings.
Good luck on ending your snakes food strike.

The notion of hunger strike makes it seem as if my snakes are unionizing. Now my reptile room is a herptatorship and not a herpocracy. Them not eating is my choice because I am an evil megalomaniac and just dangle dead rats in their face. They know they aren't allowed to eat. I am their alpha and omega. I make the waters fall and the lights shine.
...sigh I am such a captive of my reptiles. That's irony Alanis could have sung about.
