Discussion about changing breeding plans
I was reflecting today on a few of the pairings that Brant is doing for me and realized that even in 2 years, my direction has changed on a few projects.
For example: When I purchased my Pastel Phantom female, I had every intention of breeding her to my BEL to make Potions and Karmas. Come 2013, and I decided that the Fire YB is a more suitable choice as there are Potions everywhere, but not any Firefly Phantom YBs...
Also, with the Super Stripe girl, the intention was to put the Fire YB with her for some Fire SS action, but when the Desert Ghost bug hit me, the idea of making YB and Specters het DG became WAY more interesting.
In the end, the BEL was out of a job, so he got sold.
Anyway, anyone else have any examples of projects that start out one direction and veer off in another?

I dont have many projects right now but my ideas and plans for future breedings are always changing. Right now I cant decide who I am going to pair with my calico next season. That's my biggest issue. But I know my plans will change up to the moment I actually start pairing my animals.

Lets see...
1) bought a pin female and spider male to make spinners, now I'm shooting for enchi kingpins
2) bought a killerbee to pair with the enchi lesser, but ultra x killer is more appealing to me
3) planned on enchi lesser x enchi for super super enchi oessers, but now I'm pairing ultra to enchi
4) bought a stingerbee because he made me happy LOL... Now I'm squeezing him into my plans ...

1) Purchased a pastel het hypo male and a pastel het hypo female to make hypo super pastels.
2) Purchased a mojo het hypo male and a hypo female to make hypo mojos and decided to breed the mojo to the pastel to have a shot at making hypo pastaves. The hypo mojo plan is still in place, but the hypo pastave plan isn't because...
3) Purchased a hypo enchi male to pair with the pastel het hypo instead of the mojo. She should be dropping eggs in almost 40 days.
Plans for next year are going to be dictated by what I hatch this year (and if I pick anything else up), so those are still up in the air.

Ours didn't change too much this year except for a couple things. One because it seems like our Calico male has lost interest in breeding so we have a couple males rotating in to cover for him. And we also decided to put our KillerBee instead of the Calico with our Pastel and hopefully hit on atleast 1 KB female to keep.
However when we decided to get into the Leopard project and added the Cinny Leopard male things for next year really changed!
We were planning on putting our KillerBee to a Lesser and Pastel Lesser female, but the Lesser will be paired exclusively with the Cinny Leopard and the Pastel Lesser will be splitting time if we hit on a Spinnerblast male this year.
He will also be getting time with a couple other girls that we were planning on going a different direction with before we added him.

I was going for Bel's with my Butter x Mojo but decided to also pair her with my Chocolate. Either way will work for me.

Re: Discussion about changing breeding plans
Hopefully I'll get some super pastel babies this summer so I can sell them and get a mojo female to go with my 2012 lesser boy one day. And a pin male to go with my 2012 spider. In about three years I'll be retiring from the ironworkers union and will be making some nice morphs I hope and will have time to really enjoy it.
1.1 pastels, 1.0 lesser, 0.1 het blurry, 0.1 spider, 1.1 norm. 0.1 dinker,
0.3 normal 1.1 pastels 0.1 spider 1.0 fire 1.0 lesser 1.0ringer 0.1RTB 1.0 Savannah monitor.
