In all seriousness, I would make it known to the VET that the receptionist is giving out medical advice. She has no business doing that. I would also point out to the vet that the information she gave was flat out wrong. If the vet doesn't think that's wrong advice, find a new vet.

Sorry you have to deal with this - I know the feeling all too well. I am fortunate to have a good exotics vet now. Only downside is that I have a 45min drive to get to her. But I'll take it because she's GOOD.
